Joseph Alukal M.D.

Joseph P. Alukal, M.D. specializes in male infertility, erectile dysfunction, and benign diseases of the prostate. He works closely with the world-renowned Fertility Center at NYU Langone Medical Center. A highly skilled micro-surgeon, Dr. Alukal’s research interests include genetic etiologies of male infertility and the identification of new treatments for infertility and BPH.

He completed his undergraduate education at Duke University, graduating Magna Cum Laude. Dr. Alukal then went on to medical school at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill; he did his Urology residency training at Boston University and completed a fellowship in Andrology and Male Infertility at Baylor College of Medicine. In 2008, he joined NYU Urology Associates.

Dr. Alukal has received numerous awards including the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) Traveling Scholars Award and The National Institutes of Health Loan Repayment Awared for Research in Contraception and Male Infertility. He is an American Urolgoical Association (AUA) Foundation Fellow, and received the AUA Foundation Graduat Scholar Award for his research. Dr. Alukal holds memberships with the AUA, the ASRM, and The Society for the Study of Male Reproduction. Dr. Alukal is also a co-host of the “Men’s Health Show” on SiriusXM Satellite Radio’s “Doctor Radio.”
